Sometimes people ask why the Meteor Designs trading name? Well an initial laser was bought for the jewellery business which allowed the cutting of far more ornate designs than could ever be done by hand. Then came a much more powerful laser which has been extensively modified in house to meet the exacting needs of the business. It uses a burst of high energy in the form of infra red light which is invisible to the human eye, to cut through various materials with very high precision.

One evening when looking up the the dark evening sky, I suddenly saw a meteor, or shooting star as some folks call them. The flash of light is caused by the meteor coming into contact with our atmosphere which generates tremendous heat as it starts to burn up, which is the glow we see in the sky. A flash of light and intense heat just like the powerful laser, so a (shooting) star was born. The new name was just perfect.

All items are designed and made in our own studio in Staffordshire in the UK and every piece is unique to ourselves. We take the entire manufacturing concept from sketched idea to finished product.
